Salt is bad for you

Many people follow diets which calculate calories, fat content, even sugar. But many times these forget an important piece of the puzzle: Salt. According to the American Heart Association you should not consume more than 6g of salt (or 2,400mg of sodium) per day. Yet most people get far more than that.

The loss at the FIFA final cost the US team a lot in sponsorship deals. According to the latest figures, almost $10 million. But according to Bob Dorfman, an analyst at Baker Street Partners, it may bring much more over the long term. ''The final was an epic match, it likely drew a huge audience, and it made household names of Wambach, Solo and Morgan.''

Challenges remain for women sports

ESPNW has an article talking about the challenges women face in sports, a topic that keep coming back after the FIFA World Cup. Countries are making great strides, there's no doubt about it, but the author wonders if this will lead to long term benefits, and how things like uniforms and how political and social traditions will keep it difficult for some countries to have successful women sports teams.

Diet is an important part of any fitness program, everyone knows that. But the debate is, as usual, on the details. For example, is it better to eat three large meals, restraining yourself the rest of the day, or are smaller meals, with healthy snacks, the way to go?

Women's soccer team hopes interest kicks up at home

Now that the FIFA World Cup final is over, the US team may be bringing back the second place, but the team is intent on not letting the buzz die down. Speaking with reporters, they said that they wanted to see more people take up the sport.
